Description:
The Department is seeking quotes from vendors to supply comprehensive financial, corporate, commodities and economic/market data services. These services will support cross-divisional policy, research, and analytical functions, with a strong emphasis on integration with Microsoft platforms and flexible delivery mechanisms. Vendors must provide access to real-time and historical data, covering Australia and all other countries relevant to the following domains: • Economic: Supply, demand, price and any other relevant information and indicators (e.g. GDP, CPI, employment, industry forecasts). • Equities: Corporate data such as company fundamentals, financial statements, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate actions (for a range of business types including but not limited t: public, private, small, large, domestic and foreign). • Commodities: Supply, demand, and real time price data on commodities including but not limited to: agricultural chemicals, steel, iron ore, metallurgical coal, thermal coal, crude oil, condensates and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), natural gas and LNG, uranium, gold, aluminium, alumina, bauxite, copper, nickel, zinc, lithium, battery and critical minerals (e.g. cobalt, manganese, vanadium, rare earths) and hydrogen. • Money Markets: Government and corporate bonds, yield curves, central bank rates, monetary policy announcements, derivatives and indices. • Foreign Exchange: Currency rates and trends. • Supply Chains: Facility locations, supply chain mapping, port calling and congestion, container and shipping traffic/volumes/pricing, trade flows and history. • Energy Transition: Analysis of the impact of different levels of global climate ambition on the demand for Australia’s raw materials and manufactured commodities; country-level comparisons of production costs for low emission technologies and the abatement potential of existing and emerging low emission technologies for Australia, and associated costs of adopting these technologies. Access to this information is useful but not essential. It can be provided as part of the overall offer or as a separately costed item. Delivery and integration requirements include: • Access through one or more of the following channels: Desktop browser, secure online platform, terminal access across multiple locations and/or API/Web services. A greater capacity to meet the needs of geographically dispersed officers within DISR to access data will be viewed favourably. • Integration Capabilities: Including but not limited to: o Microsoft Excel: Direct export/download functionality and compatibility with Excel. o Microsoft Azure: API endpoints to support integration with the Azure environment would be viewed favourably. Platform features should include, where possible: • Query Functionality: Ability to perform custom queries across datasets. • Analytical Tools: Built-in charting, comparison, visualisation, historical data depth and projection capabilities. Reports and/or analysis on market trends, as well as financial reports on companies, equities, and markets. • Export Options: CSV, Excel, JSON formats for data extraction. • Access: Ideally available for all staff in the relevant areas of DISR. Options that provide access to staff in at least Melbourne and Canberra, and ideally additional locations, will be preferred. • API Access: Secure authentication for API access. • Sandboxing: Documentation and sandbox environment for testing is preferred. • Refresh Frequency: Daily, weekly, and monthly data refresh cycles. The successful vendor would be required to provide these services for 2 years. It is required that there be flexibility to scale subscriptions, terminals, and/or user numbers up or down during the contract term. In submitting a response, vendors must: • Provide multiple pricing tiers, clearly outlining differences in service levels. If there is an opportunity to scale services to include additional offerings this should be stated. • Specify any restrictions on data usage or redistribution. • Include details of integration support for Microsoft products. • Indicate response times for data updates and support queries. • Be prepared to offer a demonstration of the platform upon request.
